BON JOURNEY
BIOS

Rich Kendall
Born and raised in New York, Rich moved to Southwestern Pennsylvania in 1971 when he was a mere 13 years old. Rich’s love of music virtually began before he could walk. While most toddler’s carried their blankets or stuffed animals, a two year old little Rich, toted a hard-shelled case (nearly half his size) filled with black vinyl 45 records. (For those of you too young to remember, there was once this contraption called a “record player” … ahhh, never mind … you can look it up on the Web later!) …as he grew older, he was no longer content with simply listening to music, so at the young age of 8 he picked up a guitar and has been playing music ever since. As lead guitarist for several bands throughout his 34 year music career, and through his “make-shift basement recording studio,” he, essentially, traded his 45’s for a multitude of guitars, amplifiers, and music recording equipment! An electrical maintenance engineer by day, he has always been a “rock star” at heart! Rich will tell you that there is no greater rush than playing his guitar with a group of musicians who share his zest, enthusiasm and passion for live music, and the thrust of synergy from the excitement of an aroused, participative audience

Tony DiCesaro-  Never afraid to speak his mind, Tony broke into the Pittsburgh music scene with the band IMPOSTER. Several years of good times with the boys in that band paved the way for his next project, UNCLE SAM which became a Pittsburgh favorite and the house band for NICKS FAT CITY, THE RHYTHM HOUSE AND BANANNA JOES. Always ready for a challenge, our mild mannered singer accepted the position with Pittsburghs Bon Journey. When told, " we want you to sing for the band."  His response..."Steve Perry... all night? Are you crazy? Hell no!" Thankfully, he reconsidered. He currently resides in Whitehall, sees patients at his Chiropractic practice (www.airc.tv) and enjoys watching his 4 year old sing along to the songs of his youth. When they brought a pony to his school for rides, he hopped on, (his son, not him) and started shouting "I'm a cowboy! On a steel horse I ride! I'm wanted, waaaanted, dead or alive!  Hopefully Jay-z won't make his playlist anytime soon.

Mike Vargo-     Mike’s musical interests date back to early childhood when, without shame, he idolized the likes of  Donnie  Osmond and local country artist Larry Lee Jones (Todd’s father). Although his first instrument was the piano, Mike quickly grew tired of the olive green-colored piano with a plethora of broken keys. It was then he turned to drums, and destroyed nearly every piece of cookware his mother owned…a Tupperware drummer was born! A former military aviator, Mike enjoyed the opportunity to play with numerous rock bands throughout the country including “Fetish” (New York), “Rail” (Hawaii), and “Lead 86” (Southern Virginia). Upon returning to his hometown of Pittsburgh, Mike joined up with the guys from “Imposter.” Following a brief hiatus from the music scene, he was thrilled to fill the void in “Bon Journey’s” rhythm section. Mike recently returned the Tupperware to his mother (Thanks Mom!), and he currently plays a Premier Artist Birch kit with Zildjian cymbals. Be sure to say hello to Mike at an upcoming Bon Journey show!

Jerry Onesi- Jerry has been playing the Southwestern Pennsylvania rock scene for many years. Prior to joining Rich & Tony’s Bon Journey he was providing the bottom end for three diverse bands; a 60’s horn band, a soft rock lounge act and his own classic rock band AREA 51. Jerry plays a '73 Rickenbacher 4001 bass strung with Rotosound strings. For amplification he chooses David Eden products.

Matt Tichon- What? I need a bio too?
