Rich Kendall- Born and raised in New York, Rich moved to Southwestern Pennsylvania in 1971 when he was a mere 13 years old. Rich’s love of music virtually began before he could walk. While most toddler’s carried their blankets or stuffed animals, a two year old little Rich, toted a hard-shelled case (nearly half his size) filled with black vinyl 45 records. (For those of you too young to remember, there was once this contraption called a “record player” … ahhh, never mind … you can look it up on the Web later!) …as he grew older, he was no longer content with simply listening to music, so at the young age of 8 he picked up a guitar and has been playing music ever since. As lead guitarist for several bands throughout his 34 year music career, and through his “make-shift basement recording studio,” he, essentially, traded his 45’s for a multitude of guitars, amplifiers, and music recording equipment! An electrical maintenance engineer by day, he has always been a “rock star” at heart! Rich will tell you that there is no greater rush than playing his guitar with a group of musicians who share his zest, enthusiasm and passion for live music, and the thrust of synergy from the excitement of an aroused, participative audience
Tony DiCesaro- Never afraid to speak his mind, Tony broke into the Pittsburgh music scene with the band IMPOSTER. Several years of good times with the boys in that band paved the way for his next project, UNCLE SAM which became a Pittsburgh favorite and the house band for NICKS FAT CITY, THE RHYTHM HOUSE AND BANANNA JOES. Always ready for a challenge, our mild mannered singer accepted the position with Pittsburghs Bon Journey. When told, " we want you to sing for the band." His response..."Steve Perry... all night? Are you crazy? Hell no!" Thankfully, he reconsidered. He currently resides in Whitehall, sees patients at his Chiropractic practice (www.pittsburghschiropractor.com) and enjoys watching his 4 year old sing along to the songs of his youth. When they brought a pony to his school for rides, he hopped on, (his son, not him) and started shouting "I'm a cowboy! On a steel horse I ride! I'm wanted, waaaanted, dead or alive! Hopefully Jay-z won't make his playlist anytime soon.
Shane Kendall- Shane, who is Rich's son, started his interest in music before he was born...his mother sitting at every gig that dad had, could feel Shane kicking with every beat! So as it goes, who wouldn't know that he would take on the drums. At the tender age of 4, his parents bought him a Ludwig set and the rest is history. At the age of 8, Shane's first dabble in bands was his group called "Apathy". He continued playing drums with his dad as much as possible which turned into his band "Black Tuesday". Shane's passion continues and is honored to be playing drums with the talented musicians that make up the one and only...Rich and Tony's Bon Journey.
Pat Duff- hales from the Commonwealth of Kentucky where he picked up the bass after an unfortunate head first slide into home plate in Pony League baseball left him unable to play the Oboe. Fast forward 5 years... After just a mere three years of college, Patrick was drawn to Florida where the lure of Rock n Roll, Salt Water and Thong Bikinis was too much to be helped. Playing in a touring band based out of Orlando for over 10 years, he became quite familiar with late nights, long drives, microwave hamburgers and terrible gas station coffee. While watching many of his friends go on to bigger and more bitter divorces, Patrick chose the single life and headed to Los Angeles where he attended Music School...But soon after graduation, the darkened streets of Hollywood, the high cost of living, limited access to In and Out Burgers and the complete lack of a decent, if any NFL team forced Patrick to return to his native homeland where he continued his education while playing music in the desolate coal mining camps of eastern Kentucky. On a brighter note one late Autumn day, Patrick spied a woman sitting with her intoxicated co-workers that to his amazement had all of her teeth - and he knew immediately he must have her...Her keen mind and the fact that she was a Steelers’ fan captured his heart and he immediately followed her back to her home on the North Shores of the mighty Ohio...Brighton Heights to be exact. Now some 11 years later, and after several disappointing blues bands, country bands, pop bands, wrist bands and big bands....Patrick has tricked the members of Bon Journey into letting him thump, pluck and generally make a fool of himself on stage with them on most shows they tell him about and/or give him directions to. Thank you!
Matt Tichon- started playing organ in his parents’ home in 1978, and then joined his first band "Mercenary" in summer 1981. Through the years he played with several bands; e.g.; Zephyr Windz, Jaru Aroe and the WBBJ, 3D Mirage, Jester, Avant Garde, to name a few. In 1987, he took a year off from playing live, and began writing, recorded a demo of 3 tunes at Magic Planet studio, then joined The Feds in Sept '88 but the band split in fall of '89…that's when he took the music he began writing in '87 to the next level and formed all original band "Tish", this band lived from 1990 to the summer of 1992. Since then, he continued to play music doing solo gigs in and around Pittsburgh, and with other talented musicians in the area. "I am very grateful to move forward with my musical career with Bon Journey and see what is in store for me in the years to come"!
